Child Safeguarding Practice Reviews

Any agency can refer a case that they think should be considered for review to the Safeguarding Children Partnership.

Child Safeguarding Practice Reviews are undertaken to:

Establish what lessons are to be learned from the case about the way in which local professionals and organisations work individually and together to safeguard and promote the welfare of children;
Identify clearly what those lessons are both within and between agencies, what actions are required and in what timescales and what is expected to change as a result; and
Improve intra and inter agency working and better safeguard the welfare of children.

The Berkshire West Safeguarding Children Partnership may also decide to carry out a review of a case that does not meet the Child Safeguarding Practice Review criteria if it feels that the learning from the case would be of benefit to local partners.
